Cooper Award   

The Pennsylvania Chapter solicits applications annually for for its Cooper Award.  This award was created to honor the memory of the late Penn State Professor Emeritus of Zoology, and famed author of Fishes of Pennsylvania and the Northeastern United States, Edwin Lavern Cooper, Ph.D.

Under this award program, the Pennsylvania Chapter will provide a travel award to two deserving graduate and/or undergraduate students to attend the AFS annual meetingFIND OUT MORE >>>

Student Paper AwardHeidi

Students are encouraged to present papers on completed research, work in progress or proposals.  Students are defined as those who are currently registered in an institution of higher learning and attending full time or recent graduates (up to one year) who have not yet found permanent employment. Undergraduate, as well as graduate students are invited to give papers. Winners are encouraged, but not required, to give their presentations at higher level AFS society meetings.

In addition to recognizing the efforts of AFS executive committee members during the annual summer social, the Pennsylvania Chapter also periodically recognizes members who have devoted countless hours and efforts to the mission of the chapter.
